MS#43A. Mathematical Hermeneutics, 1986
- ReVISION, Vol 10, n. 3, Winter 1988; pp.15-19.
- Subjects: History, Philosophy, Dynamical models
- Written: 28 October 1986
- Abstract: Along with the advent of the computer revoolution
has come a shift of style in mechanics (the art of making mathematical models
for processes in the phenomenal world) and in applied mathematics in general.
This provides an opportunity for the re-enchantment of mechanis by integrating
modeling more tightly in the hermeneutical circle of action research.
This article introduces the basic concepts of this re-enchanted circle,
action mechanics, and suggests its potential importance for
postmodern society. This is the first part of MS#43.
