Abstract: Complex dynamical systems and cellular dynamata are classes of dynamical models which have evolved in the context of applied work over a period of years. The literature on one-dimensional cellular dynamata is extensive. Recently, two-dimensional lattices have become the focus of several exploratory studies. In this paper, we describe some methods for creating visual displays of important qualitative features of cellular dynamata in one and two spatial dimensions.
