Your Website under Athena

CATS new web server

This server is a new experimental web server maintained by Communications
and Technology Services that will provide access to individual home pages
for those having accounts on Athena at UC Santa Cruz.

To install your individual home page in your Athena account, create a file
called index.html in a subdirectory called public_html located within your
locker. Be sure to make the file publicly readable and the directories
publicly executable, like this:

  % chmod a+x /cats/username
  % chmod a+x /cats/username/public_html
  % chmod a+r /cats/username/public_html/index.html

Then anyone with a web browser will be able to access it with this URL:

  http://www2.ucsc.edu/people/yourusername

individual home pages.
