PROJECTS

With rare exceptions (approved in advance) everyone will complete a project. It is recommended to work in teams. Team sizes may be in the range [1, 8]. The suggested procedure to choose a project is to:
  • 1. List fields of application you like
    (eg, praying mantis courtship)
  • 2. List topics of chaos theory you like
    (eg, catastrophic bifurcations)
  • 3. Invent connections 1 <--> 2
    (use your imagination)
Project proposals are due in lecture 5F (Friday, February 5)
One proposal suffices for all members of a team
Proposals should contain:
  • List of names of all members of the team
  • Title of the project
  • Short abstract, giving the idea of the project
  • Preliminary bibliography and webography
  • Plan to present project in class (Y,N)
  • IF Y above, THEN first choice of presentation day
Each project (w/ or w/out presentation in class) must submit a written report, due in lecture 10S. The final report must contain:
  • Names of all members of the group
  • Title of the project
  • Abstract
  • Table of contents
  • Body of text
  • Bibliography/Webography
The purpose of the text is to report to Ralph what you did. It should be brief.
