Math 181.S96, Brunés' construction #1

Cheop's pyramid elevation and the symbol "Q"

Brunés constructs a symbol Q scaled carefully, and situates within it the drawing of Sir Flinders Petrie, Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh, of the elevation section of Cheop's pyramid, the result of a year of surveying on the site. There is a fairly good fit at this stage: the external shape of the pyramid fits almost exactly into the upper half of the circle's rectangle.

At this point, all we have is that the ratio of the hight of the pyramid to its base is about 5:8, and the inexactness is unexplained. We are not ready to refute Prof. Gillings!
