Math 181, S97: Rules

Quizes
  • There will be weekly short quizes, about half an hour each, in the lecture periods on monday
    Projects
  • The first proposal for an individual or group project is due in lecture 5M. It must include the names of the individual or group members, the title of the project, and a short abstract.
  • The first proposal should be submitted on time. However, late proposals may be upgraded (without feedback from Ralph or Bijan) and submitted as second proposals. There may be presentation times available only for those projects for which proposals have been submitted on time.
  • The second proposal is due in lecture 7M. It must include the same elements as the first proposal, it must respond to suggestions made by Ralph or Bijan on the first proposal, and it must include a table of contents and a bibliography.
  • The written project report or website must be delivered by the deadline, during lecture period 10W.
  • Presentations of no more than 15 minutes length will be scheduled in meetings 9M through 10F.
    Narrative Evaluations and Grades
  • Assuming satisfactory quiz scores, the evaluation will be "Satisfactory work" (or the grade will be "C") unless there is a project submitted on time, in which case the evaluation will include a short description or the project.

  • Revised 31 March 1997.
