• The Human Genome Project (since we are trying to play god in some form and the ideas expressed in the film Gattaca might be feasible)
• The invention of the 01 Binary code in China which was the precusor for modern computer language
• The discovery of microbe becuase all of sudden the there was something to blame on the deaths of people besides green eggs and ham.
• The development of the scientific method because from here we would extrapulate many of our joys as well as disasters.
• The formation of nations (amazingly this is always something that amazes me since there is a way to edicate a national boundary to keep others out but not a way to unify all to work together)
• The Television set (it's always a wonder how this apparatus can entertain for many hours and what is transmitted through it)
• Wrist watches- my grandfather could not only tell time by looking at the sun but also find water in the ground by using a stick
• Cars (mostly gone is the need to walk long distances although I hear people occasionally grunt when they have to walk more than 50 yards to their cars.)
• The Particle Accelerators like the ones in Japan and Stanford
• the Hubble Telescope
• Proof of Fermat's Last theorem
• Discovery of an inflating universe
• Cloning "Dolly" the sheep
