UCSC: Porter 34B, Chaos, Fractals, and the Arts, Winter 2013

Projects

  • Grading will be based upon the homework scores, the midterm, and the final project.
** The midterm may replace lower scores on the homeworks.
** The final project score may replace lower scores of homework or the midterm.
  • The final project is to be based on a proposal.
** The proposal is to be submitted repeatedly until approved.
  • The final project may be planned and completed by individuals or teams.
  • The final project must be presented to the class in the final exam period.
  • The project is to be an abstract animation with coordinated sound.
** The work is to be written in NetLogo.
** It must incorporate some algorithm of chaos theory or fractal geometry.
  • For a passing grade, a written description of the presentation as it is to be given, including your NetLogo model, must be emailed to me by 4 pm on March 20 (the day before the final session).
