1. Make folder for your website, HOME

2. Download HOME/index.html

3. Edit it till OK, put in HOME

4. Make sub folder in HOME, Prtr63F

5. Download HOME/Prtr63F/index.html

6. Put in the subfolder Prtr63F

7. Upload contents of HOME to your UCSC personal website

Now you have two copies of HOME: one in the cloud, and another on your computer.

When your browser is pointing to a file such as "index.html" on a server, you may save the file to your computer. The four major browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera) all support this.

With Safari, for example, you find the option "Save As..." in the "File" drop-down menu.

Save the file as "Page Source" (the default format) into your HOME folder.

Change the name of this file to "index.html".

This file is a text file, which you may edit with a text editor, or (preferred) a code editor.
