    Read: Dali's appreciation of catastrophe theory and painting The Swallow's Tail - Series of Catastrophes of 1983.
  • B. Basic chaos math
    Repeat from Assignment #2:
    Experiment with the Mira scheme, varying the sliders by small increments, to discover a periodic window. Make a screen shot of your result to post on your UCSC website in place of your earlier image.
    NOTE: In a periodic window, the trajectory will contain only a finite number of points.
  • C. Computer tech: Prepare for programmiing with p5.js
    1. Point your browser to the p5js.org home page.
    2. Click the "Download" link.
    3. Click the "p5.js complete" button.
    4. Find the file "p5.zip" wherever your downloads are saved.
    5. Unzip this file to create the folder "p5-zip". (Try double-clicking the zipped file.)
    6. Rename this folder "P5 Work" and locate it in your work area for this course.
    7. Delete the folder "empty-example" from this folder.
    8. Click the "Exm-1.zip"" button on this page to download our p5 Example #1.
    4. Find the file "Exm-1.zip" wherever your downloads are saved.
    5. Unzip this file to create the folder "Exm1-zip".
    9. Move it to your folder "P5 Work".
    10. Test this example for opening your file "P5 Work/Exm-1/index.html in your browser.
    11. Post a screen shot of the resulting browser window as HW-03 in your personal website.
