Week 1: Orientation

Determine which computer(s) you will use for experiments

Week 2T: Install Tcl/Tk 8.3 or 8.4

1. Choose a source:
   || Tcl Developer Xchange || Source Forge || Scriptics || Active State ||
2. Download the installer
3. Install Tcl/Tk (only the interpreter is needed)

Week 2R: Experiment 1A

Consult Lab 1a. Logistic family (not 1B, C, D)

The idea here (using the Tcl script and the suggestions) is to identify the kinds of attractors found for various values of R

Please email your "lab report" to me by 5pm on 3M (9/09/02)

Week 3R: Experiments 1BCD, 2

Lab 1BCD

1B: Logistic, Look for convergence or divergence of the two trajectories

1C: Cubic, look for attractors in the upper right quadrant

1D: Observe the similarity of upper right and lower left quadrants
