My project was to find out the average carbon footprint, per year, for each town. I started out by searching Google for general information like the populations, areas, and different regions of these towns including housing, transportation, industrial, and commercial. The research part of this was very hard because I could not find any clear and good information. I researched for a long time and could not find sufficient information but with the help of my classmates and Ralph I got some great information and could put it together to find out the carbon footprints. I found out that the average carbon footprint for a person in New York which is 11 and then took the amount of acres in each town and found out each separate footprint. I then combined the carbon footprints of each town and got 2,262,183 which is a little over 1 percent of the carbon footprint for the state of New York which is 214.27 million mega tons annually. To find out the percent of the state I took the carbon footprint of New York divided it by the carbon footprint of these towns combined and then multiplied it by 100.  There is about 1003 cities and towns in New York state which shows that these five towns have just above the average carbon footprint of each town and city in New York. This project has shown me the significance of  a low carbon footprint and how each person contributes to the high carbon footprints of  many states.
