He is accompanied by his disciple Thomas Aquinas. 1248 Returns to Paris with Aquinas, to the Stadium Generale, where he is appointed Regent, and Thomas becomes second professor and Master of Students. 1250 at the General Order of the Dominicans in Valenciennes, along with Aquinas and Taentasia, he created rules for the direction of study, and the system of graduation for the Order. 1254 Elected Provincial of his Order in Germany. 1256 Travels to Rome to defend the Mendicant Orders against William of St. Amour. c.1256-7 occupies the office of Master of the Sacred Palace, Preaches the Gospel of St. John and Cannonical Epistles. 1257 resigns the office of provincial 1260 appointed bishop of Ratisbon. 1262 resigns the position of Bishop, and returns to his position at the Stadium as a professor at the Stadium in Cologne. 1270 writes memo to Thomas Aquinas as an aid for combating Siger Brabant and the Averroist. 1274 called by Pope Gregory X to attend the Council at Lyons. St. Thomas dies 1277 Journeys to Paris to defend Thomas's writings. 1280 d. at Cologne. 1622 beatified by Pope Gregory XV 1877 Bishops of Germany send petition for his canonization. 1931 Canonized. source.
