Computational methods for dynamical simulations

Abstract: Classical computational methods emphasized the accurate numerical integration of a system of ordinary differential equations. Since the paradigm shift to the qualitative point of view, we are more interested in the portrait of the system, that is, the delineation of the attractors, basins, boundaries, and bifurcations. In this talk we will explore the new methods for drawing portraits, and the software presently available for this task.
