Theme: Social Systems, from 10,000 to 3500 BCE.

Theory: The evolution from the Gebserian Magical to the Mythical in the rise of agriculture and the growth of agricultural towns such as Catal Huyuk and megalithic structures in Western Europe. (6500 BCE to 3500 BCE.)

Practice: The study of ecology, botany, simple chemistry, archaeoastronomy, sculpture, and the growth of shamanism into religion.

Integrated Studies Project: The Pueblo and Ritual Dance.

Math Units:

  • Topics: the zodiac, calendars, archaeoastronomy, Euclid, Book I (constructions, no proofs);
  • Activities: constructions of compass and straight edge by rope stretching, temple orientation.
