Domains and Divisions
At the Ross School, traditional academic subjects
are called domains, and presently there
are ten of them:
- CH = Cultural History
- VA = Visual Arts (painting)
- PA = Performing Arts (theater, dance, music)
- Med = Media (film, photography, history of media)
- Sci = Science (Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Math
- Eng = English (aka Language and Literature)
- FL = Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin)
- Tech = Technology (computer skills)
- Well = Wellness (athletics, health)
We also arrange these, on occasion, in four groups,
called divisions:
- Math/Science: Sci, Math
- Arts: VA, PA, Med, Tech
- Humanities: CH, ENG, FL
- Wellness: Well
