The Gyre of History

These are our final steps toward the visualization of world cultural history, the evolution of consciousness, and Thompson's CHEC or Spiral Curriculum for the Ross School.
  • Take the graph of supcomplexity, turn it so the axis of historical time is vertical, increasing upwards.
  • Take one copy of the 2D model, a square, hold it horizontally, and extend it upwards along the rotated graph of supcomplexity.
This results in this square water tank, or gyre, like a stack of pizza boxes. (We could equally use a round 2D model, obtaining a gyre with a round cross-section, like a stack of hat boxes.)
