Thread Types:
The Four-Fold Thread Space
of William Irwin Thompson

Thread-space is a square region of two-dimensional euclidean space. The square is divided into four quadrants, and subdivided into eight octants. The eight octants correspond to the Multiple Intelligences of Howard Gardner. Their arrangement into four archetypes is due to William Irwin Thompson.

I. SPIRIT, Transcendent Modality
a. Intrapersonal
b. Natural

II. BODY, Locative Modality
a. Visual-Spatial
b. Bodily-Kinesthetic

III. HEART, Connective Modality
a. Interpersonal
b. Musical-Rhythmic

IV. MIND, Interpretive Modality
a. Verbal-Linguistic
b. Logical-Mathematical
