The Ross School, East Hampton, NY, Fall 2007
Complex Dynamical Systems:
A Math-Science-Tech elective for high school students
Ralph Abraham (UC Santa Cruz)
and Gary Skellington Jr. (Ross High School) with team members from the
Ross School community.
Modeling and Simulation with NetLogo
The idea for this course emerged during a Ross High School trip to Spain, Spring 2007,
and owes much to:
- The Math: Chaos theory, complex dynamical systems.
- The Science: Social and political theory, ecosystems.
- The Tech: NetLogo, an agent-based modeling language.
The course will follow two parallel tracks for the first
six weeks, then converge into a common track for the final four weeks.
Course data for Part II (by Ralph Abraham) will be posted
on this website.
